HERITAGE

TYPES OF HERITAGE
*There are two types of heriatge, natural heritage and multicultural heritage.
*Natural Heritage: Australia has many different features, many unique. These make up Australia's heritage.
*Multicultural Heriatge: Multicultural heritage is heritage built or developed by human culture. In Australia we can speak of three different groups- Aboriginal Heriatge - British Heritage - and heritage from other cultures.

LOCAL BUILDINGS
Your suburb may have some historical buildings
*Private buildings are people's homes. Houses that are considered important.
*Public buildings include post offices, town halls, churches, shops, offices, banks, hotels, hospitals and schools.

They provide an insight into history.
*You can tell how old it is by the types of materials used and technologies.
*The architechual style also tells.

LOCAL MEMORIALS
People build structures to remember people or events that have shaped the character of a community in some important way. Local memorials can take forms but the main ones include statues, graveyards, stone columns, and arches.
